Step 1: Radiant Foundation, Concealer and Bronzer
The first rule of beach makeup is gorgeous, glowing skin that looks radiant under the sun. Once you’ve applied your sunscreen for essential sun protection, smooth a hydrating, medium-coverage foundation onto the skin for luminous coverage that perfects the look of your complexion before heading down to the beach.
My Beautiful Skin collection features three beautifying products in shades to perfect, brighten, bronze and lift the look of every complexion. To get the beach-ready Beautiful Skin look, apply Charlotte’s Beautiful Skin Foundation for buildable, healthy-looking coverage, then place Charlotte’s Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer under the eyes, around the mouth and anywhere you’d like to conceal the look of. Finally, brush Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer onto the cheekbones, forehead and jawline using the Beautiful Skin Bronzing Brush to give your face a warm beach glow.
Step 2: Subtle Tinted Brows
It’s best to keep your beach makeup minimal and effortless, so try embracing a more natural, bushy-looking brow shape. Instead of using powders and eyebrow pencils to create a defined-looking arch, reach for a brow gel to give your existing brow hairs a fluffy, feathered appearance. I recommend using Legendary Brows to unlock your easiest beach brow look – just comb the applicator through your brow hairs to give them a subtle tint that enhances their natural shape. The formula is long-lasting and water-resistant, providing colour and volume that’s perfect for beauties that are looking to beach-proof their brows!
Step 3: Dewy Cream Blush
My Beach Sticks are at the top of my list of summer makeup must-haves that I need to create a gorgeous beach makeup look. Cream blush is a perfect way to get the dewy-looking summer glow of your dreams, and the sun-kissed shades that I’ve created with my Beach Sticks give the lips and cheeks a magical, sun-blushed look. Each shade is inspired by my favourite Ibizan beaches: discover Moon Beach, a peachy terracotta; Las Salinas, a flash of poppy pink; and Formentera, a burnt reddish-bronze. To apply, glide onto the apples of the cheeks and the centre of the lips to create an instant beach glow.
Tilbury Tip: You can apply cream blush to the centre of your nose to mimic the naturally rosy look of spending a day at the beach.
Step 4: A Wave of Mascara
When creating your beach makeup look, keep your eye makeup simple during the daytime – all you need is a couple of coats of mascara to gently enhance the look of your lashes. To give your eyelashes a vertical lift effect, reach for Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes! mascara. Following my ‘load, comb and lift’ technique, collect mascara on the paddle-shaped wand and apply it to the lashes, then use the comb to brush product from the root to the tip. Finally, use wiggling motions to give the lashes a flattering push-up effect.
Tilbury Tip: If you’d like to wear an understated eye makeup look on your beach day, try sweeping your perfect shade of Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer through the crease and along the lower lashline to subtly accentuate the look of your eyes.
Step 5: Moisture + Shine Lip Oil
To complete your daytime beach makeup look, apply a nourishing lip oil that helps your lips to feel hydrated while adding pout-enhancing shine. I like to give the lips a summery kiss of colour by dabbing my Beach Sticks onto the centre and blotting with my finger, then rolling Charlotte’s Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir over the top to create a moisturised, juicy-looking glow. This magical lip oil feels comfortable and beautifully hydrating on the lips and is perfect for conditioning dry lips.
Step 1: Elegant Cream Eyeshadow
Take your beach makeup look from the beach to the bar by adding a twinkling cream eyeshadow to your lids. Step 2: Eye-Defining Eyeliner and Mascara
To define the look of your eyes into the evening, reach for an eyeliner and mascara duo that enhances the look of your lashline. Adding a subtle feline flick helps your eyes to look sultry, and topping up your mascara will amplify the captivating, cat-eye effect you’ve created. Step 3: Sumptuous, Satin Lips
Beach makeup calls for glowing lip gloss and moisturising, satin lipstick to give your pout a hydrated, plump-effect coat of colour. Before you apply a nourishing lip colour, define the look of your lips with lip liner by outlining the natural shape of your lips to make them appear fuller and contoured. Then, apply a satin-finish lipstick like my K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula for comfortable, flattering lip colour in one swipe. Step 4: Beach-Blushed Cheeks
