How To Apply False Eyelashes Tutorial

  1. Pillow Talk Luxury Palette with 4 rosy-pink eyeshadow shades to prime, enhance, smoke and pop

Step 1: Create an Enchanting Eyeshadow Look

Before you apply your false eyelashes, create an eyeshadow look using your favourite Luxury Palette to PRIME, ENHANCE, SMOKE and POP! Applying eyeshadow, tight-lining and winged eyeliner while wearing false eyelashes is more difficult and can cause your lash to move and lift, so it’s important that you’re happy with your overall eyeshadow and eyeliner look first!

  2. Mascara in a pink-coloured tube with its gold-coloured lid with a black applicator next to it.

Step 2: Prep Natural Lashes with Mascara

Applying several coats of Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes! preps the lashes for false eyelash application. Designed to enhance the look of your natural lashes, my push up-effect mascara provides length, lift and volume to make them appear LIFTED and STRETCHED! By applying jet-black mascara from root to tip, your lashes are not only instantly amplified, but they’ll also blend in seamlessly with your false eyelashes which is especially helpful for those with lighter hair colours.

Step 3: Choose Your False Eyelashes

Choosing your false eyelashes depends on the type of look you’re going for. Decide whether your magical makeup look calls for a wispy, natural-looking lash, an angular, cat eye-effect lash, or a dramatic, fanned-out lash and choose your favourite to complete your eye makeup! If you’re unsure, try holding your false eyelashes against the lash line to get a feel for the final look.

  4. Graphic depicting different eye shapes including hooded, round, almond and downturned eyes

Step 4: Measure and Trim Your False Eyelashes

Customise your false eyelashes to suit your eye shape to create the most flattering false lash look. Holding your false eyelashes up to the lash line, measure how much of the lash band sits comfortably on your eye shape and trim off any extra length to create a perfect fit.

Tilbury Tip: False eyelashes should add the most volume to the outer corners of the eyes. If you want to focus on this area, try trimming your false lashes into smaller pieces to attach to the outer eye area.

  5. Model applying false eyelashes lining them up with their lash line

Step 5: Apply Glue to the Lash Band

With an eye-safe lash adhesive, apply glue along the band of your false eyelashes. When applying your lash glue, pick up your false eyelash with tweezers so you can get as close as possible to the lash band. This will help you to avoid applying too much product which can be messy and cause false lash hairs to clump together.

Let your lashes sit for a minute until the glue gets tacky – this means that they’re ready to be applied to the lash line.

  6. Model applying false eyelashes for a bolder lash look

Step 6: Press Lashes onto the Lash Line

Avoiding the eyes entirely, line up your false eyelashes with your natural lash line and gently press them into place. Use tweezers or your fingers to lightly secure your false lashes on either corner and in the centre to make sure they have adhered. Once you’re happy with your lash placement, avoid touching them to let the glue dry into place.
