How To Apply Eyeliner for Round Eyes

Wondering how to apply eyeliner on round eyes to elongate the look of your eye shape? This helpful guide has all the eyeliner tips and tricks you need to know.

Darlings, if you’re wondering how to elongate the look of your gorgeous round eyes with eyeliner, you’ve come to the right place. Round eyes are bold and beautiful, and each eye shape requires different application techniques when applying eyeliner to create my signature Charlotte Tilbury Feline Flick! With round eyes, apply eyeliner in an elongating shape, to create the appearance of a sophisticated almond shape!

But first things first, how do you know if your eye shape is round? To identify your eye shape, simply take a mirror and look straight ahead. Observe how your eyes look when relaxed; If your eyes are narrower in width and appear rounded in shape, then your eye shape is round. Round eyes can naturally appear more open and wide awake, and using too much product (especially on your lower lash-line), or incorrectly applying eyeliner to round eyes can easily look heavy and overdone. That’s why it’s important to tailor your eyeliner application to suit your eye shape!

Read on to discover how to make the most of your round eye shape with my step-by-step guide and top tips and tricks.

How to Apply Eyeliner for Round Eyes

When you’re applying eyeliner to round eyes, my top tip is to not apply the product to the whole length of your lash line, as this will accentuate the roundness. Instead, we want to create an elongated shape, avoiding the lower lash line and staying close to your top lash line. This will help you to avoid exaggerating any roundness, and instead give the appearance of an almond eye.

That’s why my Feline Flick technique is perfect for elongating the appearance of your round eyes, darling!

Here’s how to create one of the most complementary eyeliner looks for round eyes with my Feline Flick technique…

MAGIC STEP 1: Start with a fine line!

Take my The Feline Flick liquid eyeliner in Panther and starting from the middle of your upper lash-line, draw a very fine line towards your outer corner  as close to your lash line as possible.

MAGIC STEP 2: Create a feline flick!

At the outer corner of your eye, draw a straight, non-curved wing in an outward angle. Keep sweeping the line up and out to create a flick that ends around 2mm from the end of your eye.

MAGIC STEP 3: Add a fluttery finish!

Complement your new almond-shaped eye look and sexy winged flick with lashings and lashings of my Full Fat Lashes buildable 5-in-1 mascara in Glossy Black, keeping the focus on your outer top lashes as you apply to further add to that feline shape!

Tilbury Tip: When applying eyeshadow before your eyeliner, focus the product on the outer corners of your lid and work inwards to elongate the look of your eyes. To add extra depth and intensity, apply using a ‘V’ shape on your outer edges, blending out the shades with a clean Eye Blender Brush for a seamless finish.

Now that you know how to apply winged eyeliner for round eyes, you’ve just unlocked the secret to the look of beautiful almond-shaped eyes!
