Who We Are

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Limited (“Charlotte Tilbury”, “we”, “our” or “us”) operates CCTV systems in our retail stores, offices and other business premises to help keep our customers, employees, visitors and property safe. This notice sets out what we record, why and what are your rights in relation to the footage.

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Limited is the data controller for CCTV footage collected at these locations.

Why we use CCTV

We use CCTV across our premises to:

  • help prevent, reduce, detect and investigate crime and other incidents
  • help keep our staff, visitors and customers safe
  • investigate incidents, complaints or suspected unlawful activity
  • protect our premises and property

We only use CCTV where it is necessary and proportionate to do so. We use CCTV on the basis of our legitimate interests in maintaining the safety and security of our customers, employees, visitors and property

What CCTV Captures

Our CCTV systems record video images in and around our premises. Cameras are positioned to monitor areas relevant to the purposes listed above.

CCTV operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Clear signage is displayed in stores where CCTV is in operation.

How We Use CCTV Footage

Access to CCTV footage is restricted to authorised employees and approved third parties who require access for legitimate business or legal purposes.

We may review CCTV footage:

  • following an incident or complaint
  • as part of an investigation
  • where required by law
  • to support law enforcement requests where appropriate

We do not use CCTV footage for facial recognition.

Sharing CCTV Footage

We will only share CCTV footage with third parties in limited circumstances, such as:

  • Where we are required to do so by law
  • In connection with the prevention or detection of crime (for example, sharing footage with the police)
  • Where disclosure is otherwise permitted by law

How Long We Keep CCTV Footage

CCTV footage is generally retained for 30 days across our premises, although retention periods may vary by location in accordance with local legal requirements. Footage may be retained for longer where required for investigations, legal proceedings, or law enforcement purposes.

Your Rights

Under data protection law, you may have the right to request access to CCTV footage relating to you, where applicable.

To help us locate relevant footage, please provide:

  • the date of the recording
  • approximate time
  • store location
  • a description of yourself
