Five bewitching looks for All Hallows Eve

Photographs by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Look 1.

Imagine: Vamp Louise Brooks

Who: Tragic Screen Siren

How you do: To get moonlit swathed skin and haunting eyes you need to start by creating a ghoulishly pale complexion with Light Wonder (Fair 1). Achieve silver screen matte skin by sealing it with Air Brush powder. Sculpt straight brows by combing through Brow Lift. Build in shadows using my Vintage Vamp eye shadow palette; blend an almond shape around and into the eye socket, and then smoke outwards and upwards. The vamp’s sullen pout can be lined and filled with Savage Rose, followed by a blast of sumptuous Night Crimson.

Imagine: A miniscule vial of potion later, and Louis Carroll’s world will swallow you whole.

Who: Queen of heart-breaking herself Christina Ricci

How you do: Dab white face-paint onto the face using a sponge for a cloud-like effect. Sponge over eyebrows and eyes. Create cartoony cheeks by dabbing Velvet Underground onto the apple of the cheek. Groom intentionally ‘drawn on’ brows with Grace K Brow Lift pencil. Use The Sophisticate palette to contour and hollow the eyes, working into the socket and below waterline. Enhance further with Audrey eyeliner in the inner rim.  Apply face-paint to lips, before drawing a heart shape with Savage Rose, fill with Velvet Underground.

Who: Sultry, midnight-skulking black cat à la Kate Moss

How you do: Create a flawless base using Light Wonder, and sculpt with Filmstar Bronze & Glow. Contour catty eyes with a wash of grey in the eye socket – dragging the brush outwards and upwards. Create the exaggerated Feline Flick by drawing a dot in the corner of your eye at a higher point than normal, join up and line eye out to the inner corners. Curl lashes, and brush on Full Fat Lashes for intense flutter. Add individual lashes.
