Rachel Zoe AW13: Get the look #NYFW

Rachel wanted to create an easy, beautiful, fresh-faced look – with, in Rachel’s words, a ‘badass lip’.

I started by prepping the skin with a BB Cream to give it a youthful glow. On some of the girls we used shades that were a bit darker than their natural skin tone to get a more bronzed effect. I concealed where it was needed and only used a small amount of powder, as we wanted to keep the skim dewy and glowing.

Bronzer was applied with a big brush on areas where the sun would naturally hit the face. A brown cream was used on the cheeks for a healthy glow, and a pop of colour high up on the cheeks gave the girls a youthfulness which juxtaposed with the deep, ox blood stained lips.

I tapped in a lipstick with my fingers, making sure that I kept it darker in the middle to get that wine stained effect. We left the eyes mascara-free, but added some brown cream for definition. I curled the lashes and gelled the brows, creating a youthful, healthy, fresh look with attitude!
